Best Gift for Disc Golfers – Introduction
Have you ever opened a gift you did not want, while the person who gave it to you was watching your reaction? Of course you have! It happens to all of us. And so you also know that it’s incredibly awkward.
“Ohhhhhh!” you exclaim, as your face quickly contorts to mask your confusion, disappointment, or even revulsion. “It’s a _______,” you say. As if naming the item out loud will somehow help.
Then, what do you do? You put a smile on your face, say “Thank you so much!” to the person who gave it to you, and go in for the quick hug so you don’t have to mask your true feelings any longer.
How’s my aim? Not bad right? Or maybe it looks more like the gift acceptance scene below from the movie Wayne’s World?
Either way, it’s not good!
And while I could sit here and wax philosophical about how we’ve lost our way with our gift giving culture and how all these gifts just end up in the trash, etc. I’m not going to do that.
Instead, I’m going to give you the absolute best gift to give the disc golfer in your life that ensures you they get what they truly want, while taking all the pressure off you at the same time.
In addition, we’ll look at some other options for you as well, so you can narrow down your gift and still make sure you’re avoiding any awkward scenes at gift unwrapping time!
The Single Best Gift for the disc golfer in your life!
Okay, here it is! The moment you’ve been waiting for. This is the absolute best gift to get a disc golfer in your life. It’s also very simple, but brilliant in it’s simplicity as well.
The answer? Get them a gift card to Infinite Discs.
A gift card? Seriously? Isn’t that tacky or something?
No! It’s accurate! Let me explain… Infinite discs is an online retailer for ALL THINGS DISC GOLF! It has everything a disc golfer could possibly want. Bags, discs, shoes, baskets, kneepads, grip enhancers, and so much more. It. Has. EV-ER-Y-THING!
Now, rather than guessing, you are ensuring they get exactly what they want. And as an added bonus, you guarantee yourself that you don’t have to go to the post office and ship an unwanted gift back. They order what they want, and it’s over with! Boom! Done!
Everybody wins.

I truly think they will be very pleased with this gift, and they’ll even enjoy shopping online.
But, if this disappoints you, I have other ideas as well below!
How much Should I give?
As usual, the answer to the question of how much, is personal. If I were forced to throw out a number, that would be best suited for the gift giver and the gift receiver, I would say $50.
$50 can buy a good amount of hardware, and doesn’t break the bank.
But honestly, it always depends on so many factors, including how invested the person is in disc golf. If they are a lifer, then every penny will be used well. If you are less certain if disc golf will stick for them, then perhaps a lesser amount is more appropriate.
Looking at the Infinite Discs Gift Card Page, I see increments of $5 up until $30, and then it counts by $10 until you get to $50.
After that I see a $100 and a $150 dollar option. With those numbers, you can make any combination you like.
And unlike just giving cash, you are still showing thoughtfulness and ensuring they get something they want for themselves in the world of disc golf.
Other Gift Options for the Disc Golfer
If it were me, and I didn’t want to get the person a gift card, but still wanted to get them a disc golf gift, I would do one thing.
I would ask them. “What do you want for a disc golf present?”
That’s what I’d do. As I write this, there are many thousands of discs on the market (all with varying weights and types of plastics) and thousands more other options.
Once, they tell you exactly what they want, I’d still go to Infinitediscs.com to order it. Like I said, they have everything you could possibly want. Check it out here, and see for yourself.
Buying Discs as a gift
We’ve already mentioned that there are literally thousands of options for discs on the market. It can be daunting to find one.
If you want to get them a disc, and they didn’t tell you which one, I would suggest going with tried and true discs. I would get them discs that are top rated by other disc golfers.
Luckily, Infinitediscs.com has pages dedicated to the top ranked discs by each category. Visit each page, read reviews, and see which ones might be best for the disc golfer in your life.
With so many positive reviews, it’s hard to go wrong with some of these highly rated options. and if you get stuck on which weight, the pros usually use discs that are 170 grams or higher, so that’s what I’d go with as well.
Let’s look at the top rated discs by categories (putters, midranges, fairway drivers and distance drivers).
PUTTERS – Try this page, for the Top Ranked Putters.
MIDRANGE DISCS – For the highest rated midrange discs, see this page here!
I have two recommendations for you, from this top rated midrange page. The first recommendation is a great disc AND it has the added benefit of glowing in the dark. It is the MVP Reactor in Eclipse plastic. And when I say glow, I mean pulsates! Good luck losing this disc during a glow round at night.
Then, when you add the great feel in your hand, the straight flight for backhand and forehand, I’d say you have a winner. Check it out here! Check out the Reactor!
My other midrange recommendation from the highly rated midrange page is the Quake in pro-line plastic! It’s nice and overstable so I can flex it on a forehand but it also goes good and straight for forehands and backhands.
In addition, I can really trust it in the wind. It’s relatively new to my bag but I keep finding myself reaching for it.
Be sure to check it out in pro-line plastic here!
FAIRWAY DRIVERS – Click here, to explore the top fairway drivers on the market.
The Mantra is one of my favorite discs in my bag. It’s no surprise that this disc is so highly rated. It’s a 9-speed fairway driver that glides for days! I just release it on a slight hyzer and let it flip up and glide and glide and glide some more! The grip is great and that plastic is super durable as well.
Check it out here!
DISTANCE DRIVERS – For unleashing the big distance throws, try checking out these top-rated distance drivers.
Other Popular Gifts for the Disc Golfer in your Life!
If you are considering getting one of the following options, I would definitely check and make sure the person you are buying for doesn’t already have one.
That being said, if the person is serious about disc golf, they will probably want to have some of the following options as well.
DISC GOLF BASKETS – I have a page I created dedicated to choosing the right disc golf basket for you.
Or, if you know you want to purchase one for the disc golfer in your life, you can click here for disc golf basket options. I highly recommend the portable disc golf baskets. They are easy to move around and cost far less as well.
DISC GOLF BAGS – There’s only so long you can get by using your old high school backpack on the disc golf course(I should know!). They’re just not made for the rigors!
Eventually, if they don’t have one already, any disc golfer is going to want a disc golf bag. These are made with the disc golfer in mind and have the perfect sizing to fit a lot of discs as well as some other creature comforts.
Explore options on disc golf bags.
Personally, I like the backpacks. I think it’s easiest to carry and still holds plenty of discs.
But I also know a lot of people that swear by using carts, which they roll behind them on wheels. This is an especially good option for someone that wants to carry a lot of discs out on the course.
RANGEFINDERS – If the disc golfer in your life doesn’t have a rangefinder, I can’t imagine they’d be too upset by receiving one. My friend has one that he lent to me for a bit and I really enjoyed it a lot. Basically, you just aim it at a target (usually the basket) and it tells you how far it is away. This helps you decide which disc to use and how hard to throw the shot. It can usually help lower your scores as well!

APPAREL – A lot of disc golfers like wearing disc golf attire out on the course. If you ask me, you can’t go wrong with a hoodie. But you can also click here for all disc golf apparel, and pick out something you think the disc golfer in your life will enjoy.
OTHER – After that, you’re pretty much guessing (Which is the whole reason I think the number one gift is a gift card). Most players want a towel for drying hands and discs on wet or sweaty days. Similarly, some people might want a grip enhancer to help them execute their shots better. But at a certain point it’s hard to know for sure…
Best Gift for Disc Golfer – In Summary
Buying the perfect gift for a disc golfer can be very challenging. There are quite literally, thousands of different discs to buy, all at different weights and in different plastics. In addition, there are so many other products that they may or may not want or they already have.
That’s why I say you either ask them explicitly and get it from Infinitediscs.com, or just get them that gift card and be done with it!
Don’t worry about feeling “tacky”. They’re a disc golfer for crying out loud! They’re supposed to be laid back…
And when a disc golfer gets exactly what a disc golfer wants, then a disc golfer is happy. And isn’t that the whole point of this gift giving tradition in the first place?
