1. Plastic Type – There are many types of plastics in disc golf. Knowing the plastic type will help you know how well it will fly for a beginner, but also how long you can continue to use the disc.

2. Weight – The typical weight for a beginner disc is 175 grams. Some beginner sets have lighter discs so that it’s easier for the beginner to throw.

3. Flight Characteristics – There are 4 numbers on a disc that indicate how a disc will fly.
