Bushnell Edge Disc Golf Rangefinder – Introduction

Bushnell is a name that carries a lot of water in the disc golf realm.

For rangefinders, Bushnell is a name you get when you want the very best. You know, when you make the purchase, that you are getting top quality that endures, and for you, that peace of mind is well worth the extra money.

From our standpoint, it’s hard to argue that logic.

The Bushnell Edge Disc Golf Rangefinder is absolutely accurate and reliable. It also comes with plenty of other benefits that make it highly enticing.

And, if money is no object, it has plenty of additional add-ons you can purchase to make your Bushnell experience all the more enjoyable.

So, let’s get into its many features and add-ons and see if the Bushnell Edge Disc Golf Rangefinder is a good fit for you!

Bushnell Edge Disc Golf Rangefinder’s Plus Features

There’s a lot to like about Bushnell’s Edge Disc Golf Rangefinder. Let’s take a look at it’s many positives!

Long Range – Unless you are in distance competitions you probably won’t need the impressively long range that the Bushnell Edge Rangefinder provides. Nevertheless it goes up to 900 feet (275 meters) with +/- of 3 feet.

Accuracy – We tested against old-fashioned measuring tapes, other rangefinders, UDisc and other rangefinders. Bushnell is the industry standard and is extremely accurate (more than most disc golfers actually need) from shorter and longer ranges.

Easy to Use – Bushnell has one button. Just turn it on and start ranging! You can hold the button down for scan mode, and you can adjust between feet and meters (hold button down while rangefinder is off), but it’s point and shoot easy!

Easy to See Through – Not only does it allow you to adjust the focus, it’s also designed to bring in more light to help you see better. This is a huge bonus on overcast days or rounds in the woods!

Includes Elevation Readings – No need to fuss with settings to get the elevation of a shot. They’re included in every reading and can certainly help a disc golfer get it close to the basket!

Water Resistant – Don’t take your Bushnell Edge with you for any underwater rounds, but also don’t be concerned if you spill some water in it. It has an IPX4 water resistance rating which basically means it can withstand splashing from all angles!

5 Year Warranty – Bushnell builds their products to endure the rigors of the game and back it up with a very strong 5 Year Warranty that is full transferrable and requires no receipts!

Included Accessories and Add-Ons

The Bushnell Edge Disc Golf Rangefinder comes a few necessary accessories that make it ready to go right out of the box. There are also a few add-ons you can access to make your purchase fit your needs. Let’s take a look.

Battery Included – The battery comes included with the rangefinder, but it is not rechargeable so you will eventually need to replace it. Find the CR2 3V Replacement Battery on Amazon Here! (paid link).

Lanyard Included – The Lanyard is a nice way to ensure you don’t lose your rangefinder.

Bushnell Add-Ons

Bushnell has some nice add-ons that people enjoy. It is definitely worth noting that these add-ons do not come with the rangefinder. If you want them you have to purchase them separately.

Carrying Case – Some disc golfers appreciate the added protection of a case, especially when they are traveling. We’re not always gentle when we toss our bags into the car. If this sounds like you, then we like this Rangefinder Carrying Case on Amazon! (affiliate link).

If you prefer not to have a case, you may appreciate the added protection of the Exo Armor Casing below!

Exo Armor Casing

This casing, made of silicone, is added protection and shock absorption against drops or events that could damage the rangefinder.

It’s made of silicone and fits nice and snug over The Bushnell Edge.

Things You’ll Want to Know – Cons

No product is perfect so, as always, we point out the downsides, or cons, so that you can make an informed decision and know what you are getting into.

Here is what we found.

Replaceable Battery – We prefer rechargeable batteries. It’s just one less thing to do. In addition, it’s not a typical sized battery so it’s not as easy to find in everyday life. The charge does last plenty, but it’s still a con in our book.

No Carrying Case – We said it before. All the other rangefinders we’ve reviewed come with a carrying case. You can get it as an add-on, but it’s an additional purchase and that makes it a con for us.

In addition it is excellent and accurate from long distances.

It’s also easy to use and easy to view out of. All readings include elevation so you can be sure to be get the information you need in order to make your shot.
