The MVP Trail Disc – An Introduction

They call it a “cheat code.” They say it holds any line and does exactly what you ask it to do. They tell us it’s perfect for beginners all the way to top pros.

But how much about this addition to the James Conrad line is real and how much is hype?

Given all the buzz, we’ve been testing this disc for a long time now. We wanted to solidify our viewpoint.

We threw it backhand, forehand and more. We put it on all sorts of angles at all sorts of speeds.

And now, we’re ready to weigh in. Let’s begin…

The MVP Trail’s Versatility

When it comes down to it, we found the MVP Trail disc to be a very versatile disc. It’s good for straight shots, holding angles, easy distance and more.

And we liked it both backhand and forehand.

It’s also a very forgiving disc.

Unlike some other discs, you don’t have to get the angle just so in order to get a favorable result. This makes it a beginner friendly disc, though we don’t love it for true beginners. For a true beginner, we have some great beginner-friendly discs that you’ll keep in the bag for life, and we encourage you to give it a look.

But given all the shots you can pull off with the MVP Trail disc, we could see it being the one driver you bring on a quick round. It’s got that much utility to it.

All told it’s an excellent disc and it could certainly find a spot in your bag.

Other Considerations for the Trail

Perhaps second to only the Destroyer, no other disc has more “rumors” about it than the Trail.

“The first run is better than the second.”

“This color is far more stable than that color.”

“Get this stamp and avoid that one.”

And so on…

Honestly, we don’t know too much about all of that. We just know the ones we tried. And what we got was a versatile, reliable disc. If you’re in need of one of those, you should like it very much.

If you already have one that you rely on, we don’t think the Trail is going to take 7 strokes off of your average score. Like most discs, it’s about learning when to use it and throwing it with confidence in those situations.

But, on the other hand, a lot of players can use such a forgiving, all-purpose disc, and The Trail will fill that void for you nicely.

The MVP Trail Disc – In Summary!

If you are looking for a disc that can serve a lot of roles for you in your disc golf game, The MVP Trail Disc could be a great fit for you.

It’s a forgiving disc that works well for forehand and backhand throws. It also holds many angles extremely well for some shot-shaping potential.

Like any other disc, you’re going to need to play with it a bunch and learn what you can and can’t do with it.
