Poland Spring Resort Disc Golf Review

Welcome! Disc Golf Around is a site dedicated to all things disc golf. Established in April, 2022, this site tracks a teacher’s journey from novice to “expert” (or at least a level way higher than I am now), and shares helpful information discovered all along the way. Whether it’s course reviews, helpful tips, access to the game’s best players/products, or anything else disc golf related, Disc Golf Around is made with you in mind. Today we review Poland Spring Resort Disc Golf at Fenn Park. Enjoy!

Course review Introduction

Fenn Park at Poland Spring Resort has a 9-hole disc golf course as a part of an outdoor entertainment park. It also includes a driving range, and 9 holes of mini golf (Soon to be 18).

For $5 you can play disc golf all day. It’s a short course that is very beginner friendly. It’s also well-maintained and extremely easy to navigate. I shot under par rather handily (a rare occurrence for me) so it can be good for a confidence boost as well.

While I was there I only saw two other players on the course. I can’t imagine it ever gets that busy either.

Given the fact that you can play all day, and that there aren’t a lot of players to contend with, I can see this being a good place to go to practice your game as well. If you had a good chunk of time and didn’t feel like throwing in a field, this could be a good happy medium for you.

All told, it’s a fun little course that’s worth a look if you are in the area. I doubt many people will make it their home course, but that’s not what they are aiming for with this one either. Let’s look at a bit more information to help you decide if you want to make the trip.

Signature Holes

These are just of the opinion of the writer. With each course I like to showcase a few holes and explain what stuck out to me on that particular day. Then, I let the photos do the talking…

Hole 3 Shaped like an hour-glass. Hit the narrow gap and peel your disc around to the left toward the basket.

Hole 4 – This is a very short ace-run dogleg measuring 183 feet to an elevated basket surrounded by stone.

Ideas to Borrow for Future Course

Follow the gravel paths and large arrows for easy navigation!

Some day I would like to construct my own disc golf course. Come along for the ride and see if I do (Subscribe)! With each course, I play, I want to find some element that I appreciate and can use for a course I help create some day…

I greatly appreciated the ease of navigation that this course provided. I tend to get lost rather easily on a new course. Personally, I don’t want to be taking out my phone during around and trying to figure out where the next hole is.

Poland Spring Resort has easy paths with large arrows directing you between holes. As a result, I never even questioned whether I was heading the right way. This allowed me to enjoy my first round there and appreciate the course.

19th Hole at Poland Spring Resort Disc Golf

After a round there is nothing better than going to a local establishment, having a beer (or whatever you want), some food, and talking about your round (or just disc golf in general). This section is always open to suggestions on where the best place to go after your round is…

two mugs of brown liquids
Relax and have a pint after your round. Get a bite to eat as well and feel free to let disc golf be the topic du jour!

While I can’t, in good conscience, recommend the mini golf at Fenn Park at Poland Spring Resort Disc Golf, I will say that they have some decent rates on ice cream there and a nice porch with tables outside to sit at and enjoy.

By far the closest establishment for a beer is Cyndi’s Dockside Restaurant. They are on a lake and have indoor and outdoor seating.

If you are looking for a locally crafted pint after the round, how about Craft Brew Underground in nearby Auburn, Maine? They specialize in craft brews using ingredients that are locally sourced. Once you are there you can hop across the bridge and go to any number of places close by as well…

To the North, I hear good things about the Mill House Pub (established before the Simpsons).

If you are nearby and have suggestions for this seasonal traveler, please don’t hesitate to chime in…
