In this post, I will highlight some of disc golf’s top-rated and best discs with high glide ratings. Recently, I have just finished reading/editing EVERY disc’s write-up (and viewing many reviews) at Infinite Discs! In the end, I think you’ll find this to be a comprehensive list of high-glide distance drivers, fairway drivers, midranges and putters to choose from! Let’s begin!

High Glide Discs – Introduction
There are two universal truths that all* disc golfers love. They love distance and they love to watch a disc soar!
With these two truths, it stands to reason that discs with high glide, would also be highly coveted.
But what’s also true, is that not all high-glide discs are made the same.
In addition, because manufacturers put their own ratings on discs, there’s a chance that a disc with a high glide rating, doesn’t live up to that number!
The reverse can also be true (and I’ll have examples for you)!
Here, I plan to highlight the best discs with tons of glide that are also very highly rated by other disc golfers. That way you can feel secure that you are getting a great discs with great glide as well!
First, let’s look at the benefits and potential pitfalls (yes, they exist!) of high glide discs!
* Okay, maybe not all. Most? Many?
Benefits of Discs with High Glide!
A Glide rating (second number on the disc) essentially tells the disc’s ability to remain in the air.
The longer it stays in the air, the longer it can travel.
Therefore, the most sought after benefit of discs with high glide is that they get more distance!
High glide discs are also beneficial to use when throwing up hills.
In general, lower speed discs will have lower glide ratings (except, of course for the Glitch!).
But another benefit of a high glide putter or mid, is that you can put a bid on the basket from farther away and reasonably expect that it will stay up long enough to make the chains.
There’s nothing worse than a disc heading for chains that ducks down at the last moment! For this reason, I have some nice high-glide putters and midranges that I use and others love as well!
But, you don’t want ALL of your discs to just be high glide! There are downsides we should look at as well.
The Downside to Discs with High Glide
If discs with high glide are more inclined to stay in the air, then it also makes them more susceptible to the whims of the wind.
On gusty days, I do not recommend throwing a high glide disc up into the air because it’s anybody’s guess where it will land.
Similarly, you generally don’t want your discs with high glide to be used down steep hills. They can tend to drift far off your intended line.
Finally, if you are making a bid on the basket and miss, that high glide might carry your disc well out of your comfort zone for a comeback putt (or even OB). This can cost you strokes.
So, as you can see, they are not for all situations and there are plenty of reasons to have discs with low glide in the bag as well (like a Zone. Found here btw).
Nevertheless, I definitely love having my high-glide discs, knowing I don’t have to throw out of my shoes and can let them do a lot of the work for me.
So let’s start with the putters and find the best, highest ranked, high-glide discs for your bag!
Best Putters with High Glide
We’ve already talked about this, but putters generally have a lower glide rating (usually topping out at 4) so you shouldn’t expect the super high numbers.
But that doesn’t mean they don’t glide, because they do!
And when you are making a run from 50 feet, that extra glide can give your disc the chance it needs to find chains!
Also, if you are interested in the highly rated element of this, then you can also just view the highest rated disc golf putters page.
Let’s start with putters with normal glide ratings and then we’ll give you the abnormal as well!
