Best Disc Golf Putting Putters You've Never Heard Of!

In this post I will highlight the very best disc golf putting putters that are lesser known. Some of them are obscure, but all of them are field tested and highly rated by the disc golf community. One of them, might be the putter that puts you over the top! Let’s have a look!

Unheard of Putting Putters – Introduction

Can we talk about “never” for a second in the title? Great word, doubtful it applies. But “Probably Never” or “May Never” would definitely be more applicable. Let’s not get hung up on that though! Let’s get hung up on getting the very best putting putter into your hands!

We don’t always love to acknowledge it, but putting is a hugely crucial part of our disc golf games. A lot of times it can make the difference between a great round and a so-so one.

And in my never ending quest to improve my putting, I believe I have uncovered some truly fantastic putters that aren’t necessarily on people’s radars. These putters feel great in my hand and give me extra confidence on the putting green.

They are also very highly rated by other disc golfers as well! All of these discs can be found on Infinite’s page dedicated to the highest rated putters. It’s a fantastic page to find great discs that are vetted by your fellow disc golfers.

In fact, Infinite has a page for the highest rated discs in all categories. I went ahead and highlighted some great finds, with links to all the pages you’ll need, here.

That post will also highlight some great throwing and approach putters. This post will not.

Here, I want to show you some great putting putters I’ve found that you may not know about. I’m currently deciding between these putters for my own bag and it’s really hard! They’re all so great!

Best Disc Golf Putting Putters you may not know about!

So obviously, given the title, I’m not going to be reviewing your classic popular putters. Aviar, P2, Judge, Luna, PA-3 etc. These are all well-known putters that amateurs and pros use quite a bit. Some of which I like very much…

And while I have many of these, I seem to always be hunting and seeking out that perfect putter for me. Because I understand the importance of putting, I made sure, right away, that I had a portable putting basket. This thing is a game changer! If you dont’ have one already, I highly recommend that you get one for your self!

But the purpose of this post is to uncover some really great putting putters that you may not know about. These could end up finding their way into your bag, sending you on a putting tear, the likes of which the world has never seen, and sending you straight to the top!

Or, you know, they might just be good putters that you like a lot…

Either way, if putting is all about comfort, then I think it’s worth it to always keep exploring in search of that perfect putter. That’s what I’m doing. And the putters I highlight do not disappoint! Enjoy!

The Sparta!

The Sparta, from Prodiscus, is making a serious case for being my go-to putter. It is currently in my bag, but it’s hold is tenuous ONLY because of the other great putting putters below that are knocking on the door!

I suppose all putters start with feel. Well, the feel of the Prodiscus plastic is top notch. It’s got great grip in every condition I’ve tried it in. Then, throw in the very nice glide and stability, the very subtle bead and it’s kind of perfect. As an added bonus, it’s an excellent throwing putter as well!

The Shogun!

If you like a touch of overstability, The Shogun fits nicely. If you also like that extra glide to get you over the rim, this has that too. Firmness and grip? Check and check! Finally, if you like a bit of bead like I do, then this might very well be your putter!

Oh, and as an added bonus, this putter can be bought ridiculously cheap (I see it for $5.99 at this time)! It would almost be considered negligent not to toss it into your cart!

The Reko!

Okay, okay! I get it! Can I save you the trouble of chirping me in the comments? (Chirp away btw, it’s all in good fun!). I know you have heard of the The Reko (and probably other discs on this list)! But the fact of the matter is, a lot people, including me a few months ago, have not heard of it! And so, at the risk of appearing foolish, but never wanting a reader to miss out on a great putter, I present the Reko…

The Reko, from Kastaplast, is a great feeling, point and shoot putter. It has a subtle bead and a fantastic tack to it. It can be really tough to beat that Kastaplastic!

This putter has an amazing balance of feel, glide, and subtle stability. A lot of players are getting this in their hands and never again considering another putter!

As an added bonus, it’s an excellent throwing putter as well!

Best Putting Putter Wish List #1 – The Xing!

You can go ahead and call me delusional, and you may be right. You can also tell me that buying every putter on the market isn’t going to fill some void in me. That, instead of searching outside of myself, I should be looking inside! You are almost certainly right about that!

But, here’s what I know to be true. If there is a putter that others love and it fits a profile I’m looking for, I’m probably going to get it. Otherwise, I’ll always be wondering “what it?” And who wants to live with that? Not me! Psychoanalyze that why don’t you?

And so, that is why The Xing is on my wish list!

Upon reading the glowing reviews, The Xing, by Yikun, very much fits the profile of a putter I would like to try. Glide, feel, durability, and firmness all appear to be well-accounted for!

Curiosity is also a variable for me here as well. Having never touched a disc by Yikun, I’m curious to try one out! And like the Shogun, it can be had at a great price!

Best Putting Putter Wish List #2 – The Alpaca!

82 Reviews – 4.85 Stars! Flight Numbers: 3, 3, 0, 1

With 82 raving reviews, The Alpaca, by Infinite Discs, might be the worst kept secret in disc golf. Not only do I want to try it because of the fanfare, but I also wanted to include a beadless putter on my list as well.

By all accounts it has a nice grip, predictable fade at the end of a straight and true flight and is quite nice for longer approaches or runs. Sounds good to me!

Best Putting Putters Wish List #3 – P Model S

29 Reviews – 4.86 Stars! Flight Numbers: 3, 5, 0, 2

Curiosity, intrigue and star power win the day for this one! The P Model S by Prodigy has people applauding this putting putter with a subtle bead, great grip, good stability, and a nice low profile feel.

But what has me really curious is that 5-glide rating. I like knowing my putter will help get me there, if I don’t give it all it typically needs. This disc sounds perfect for that…

Best Putting Putters honorable Mention – The Nomad!

“Honorable Mention? Really? Does that mean you are not going to get this one?” you ask.

Look, I’m just trying to exhibit a little self-restraint! How many putters with a 2, 4, 0, 1 flight rating, can one person possibly own? But, if you hold my feet to the fire, I’ll break faster than an eggshell at a middle school egg drop challenge… For now, at least, I have my eyes on the other putters above.

Nevertheless, this putter has a lot of fanfare and I wanted to make sure others knew about it as well!

The Nomad is clearly beloved by its users! And from what I’m reading, it’s a nice driving putter as well. By all accounts it has a straight flight, gentle fade, and a great feel.

And of all the putters listed, this one has a rim that is the least deep. So, if you are looking for a rim that’s more on the shallow side, this one may come out on top!

Best lesser Known Putting Putters – In Summary

As I said in the intro, when I’m shopping for discs I go right to the pages marked top rated discs! I want the field tested, tried-and-true discs!

For putters, it’s no different. And when I sort through all the putters on this top rated putters page, a great deal of them are for driving or approaches.

But there are also a great number that people swear by for their putting. And digging further, a lot of them are lesser known as well. That’s why I give you this post.

Putting is such an important facet of our game. Those that do it best feel relaxed, comfortable and confident. I’m no genius, but it seems to me that a great feeling putter could help with all three!

This page highlights a great deal of these putters with the hopes that each of you find that optimal putter for your own personal games. To that end, if you have some that were not included on this list, you should absolutely let us all know in the comments below.
